Julius Brauckmann's work "Vibration Addition" consists of a commercially available photo tripod and consumer compact camera, whose display is permanently switched on. Between camera and tripod Brauckmann has mounted a self-constructed, battery operated and strongly vibrating adapter. The work is placed in the room, where, through the vibrations, it develops a life of its own and wanders around. The image visible on the camera's display shows live view shots of the environment captured by the camera, with the camera's internal image stabilizer competing with the vibrations in order to produce distorted, blurred, "hacked" images.
